In this piece I wanted to show the reflection of the archetypal Madonna in the face of any earthly woman.

As a first choice I selected the images of six women painted by various mediaeval European painters. But the idea grew and I added twelve images of contemporary, significant women who have appeared at different stages of my life and who express different qualities of the Madonna. In addition, the original form of a static rose window became transformed into a spinning multicoloured galaxy. Just as the Divine Mother spreads her energy from her center throughout the universe, so the full spectrum of the colours of light are manifested in the richness of creation and expression.
Every colour carries a different vibration, a different quality, and may be recognized in the endless numbers of women on this planet.
