The Black Madonna is the patron of Poland, my native country. She receives tremendous veneration from my compatriots, and throughout the country there are many versions and copies of her image.
The Black Madonna of Czestochowa is known for her many miracles and healing. Every year thousands of people make the pilgrimage to her holy place. For me, her image has special meaning, as I grew from day to day looking at the copy painted by one of my great uncles, and twice made the pilgrimage to the sanctuary of the Black Madonna.

The image and its meaning are deeply imprinted within me.
