Evita
Schvallbe attended Wroclaw Polytechnic Institute, Wroclaw, Poland, graduating
with a M.Sc. degree in Architecture. While a student, having been interested
in textiles from an early age, she began showing and selling her work in
Poland, Germany and France. Although her interest in textiles continued, she trained for several years in Polish and Canadian Zen Centres, emigrated to Canada where she married and began a ten-year career as a shiatsu therapist. In 1994, she came in contact with quilt techniques and turned her focus again to textile art. She now works full-time as a textile artist in her studio in Acton, Ontario. |
